Bus

Take the 47 from Bay 9 at Swindon bus station and get off at the village pond. It should take about 20mins. Head left for the village pub if you like. There is free wifi in the pub but the phone reception is quite poor. Make sure you try the local beer and some of Manfred, Mercy and Rita’s epic cooking!

Cabs from Swindon

  • If you arrive out of bus times or prefer a cab, book John from the lovely local firm, Wayland Private Hire, for the most economic option: 0800 799 9682.
  • Second cheapest is Cross Street Cars based above the station entrance: 07877 331 885.
  • Last resort is the cabs right outside the station but they charge twice as much.

Driving to the field

The field is a 30 min walk from Bishopstone or a 15 min bike ride. If you’re driving to the field, put these co-ordinates into Google maps: 51.562872, -1.660413 or use What3Words: fairness.river.occupations. The nearest postcode is SN6 8PA.

It’s just south of the junction between New Road that comes up from Bishopstone and Bourton Road. The site is accessed by an unfinished track to the right of a house that has an evergreen hedge. Drive up the track and then turn left around the back of the barn to find the parking area.
